Prefects soon-to-be wannabees
P/S : I don't get it why only 3 of the F4 cagers get the interview..Are they blind not to see our capability in leading??!

Cagers' Best 'Vacation' so far..
And so we ended our exam on the last day of school..which was on Friday, 13th of November. After our Friday prayer, we rushed to our dorms and quickly packed our things before loading them into the bus..we also loaded boxes of mineral water and 100 plus as well as Cagers' important stuff..
34 Cagers from Form 1 till Form 4 joined the camp..we also had a few old boys joining us namely Cikgu Jimmy '91, Syahmi '08, Luqman '08 and of course Abg Ise '80..Aunty Ana also came along to conduct special social skills classes to the Cagers..We reached there at around 7.30 p.m and just in time for the u-15 players to warm themselves up before their game started..
They played a good game that night and the game was very fight and tight! But..the Cagers lost, 48-51 to the other team..but they never give up and still fight to the very last second and until the last whistle is blown..
That night we had our dinner after the game and had a little briefing before we sleep..And we slept peacefully that night..each forms had their own room (but some of them ad to sleep outside!) and some of the form 4s (because of too many) had to share a room with the form 1s..
So the next day, the form 4s, were woken up by Abg Ise and Cikgu Jimmy for a morning jog within the area..We jogged, ran, and even hiked to the top of a hill where they plant cabbages..quite interesting! After we finished our morning activity, the whole cagers gathered at the living room for the communication skills class that was conducted by our very own Aunty Ana. Many were learned and many were shared, like what is the most important thing when you speak? How to tackle certain types of people? And how to handle various things in critical situations..
After having our classes, we get ready for the upcoming match, that very night, we had a lot of rest that evening and really enjoyed our sleep since it was cold.
That night, the Cagers played against a tough team and were beaten .... by the opponent..but they played well and were satisfied with losing..it wasn't them who didn't play well..the other team was just better and had the advantage in terms of size and skills..We had a vote that night and named Iqbal as the best player for two straight games.
The next few days were as usual as the first day. We had our morning walk, class, rest and game..
The Cagers in total won 2 matches and lost 3..which makes them no. 4 in placing and surprisingly they won the best team award since they are the only team that have ever played in a tournament in Cameron Highlands..the supporters, led by the form 4s did a very good job in cheering up the team and making the matches, more interesting..
The next day, some of the Cagers had to go back since they have family affairs and plans. Some of them had to go back to koleq to take a Mandarin Oral Test that they were supposed to take 2 days before. Sir, himself, gave a special, last minute tuition for them to make sure that his players pass the exam. And so, the house is left with only 18 Cagers..
On the day that most of the Cagers are leaving, the balance Cagers left were forced by Abg Ise to take a morning stroll since this will be our last day before we leave the next day. Ok, so we went out for a walk to the playground..at first, we didnt want to go up to the BOH farm but since this will be our last walk, so we decided to go. Little did we know that BOH farm is situated 15 km from our place..the signboard said 6 km only! Our journey getting up there costed us 1.5 hours and very tired legs.. Everybody was nagging "Abg Chip..where is it? Why so long the journey?" haha.. even Badak nagged about the journey.. so anyway, we reached the place around 10 o'clock and went straight to its highest point, View Point. From there, we could not see a thing because of the thick fog. But the temperature was so cold and windy, we wouldn't want to come down.. But we did and before we left the place, we had a drink at the BOH Tea Shop. Oh! How wonderful it was to drink a cup of tea in cold weather. After that, we bought a few gifts for our family back home and for Abg Ise & Aunty Ana, and Sir. We walked or jogged another 15 kilometers down to our house and reached there around 12.30 p.m. It was such a tiring journey and Mr. Liew, Abg Ise and Aunty Ana were shocked that we hiked 15 km up and jogged another 15 km down..
That night, we had to play a game where everyone was given a piece of paper each, and had to write his name on it. Then, we had to add an adjective before our name. For example, Badak, he put Bombastic Badak, and Aiman, he put Adorable Aiman. There are many other funny names and adjectives. After that, we had to paste it onto our back and make sure that everybody see it and then everybody had to go around to each person and write down positive comments about that person..After everything is done.. Aunty called our name and we have to read what is written on our paper..It was so fuuuunnn..and embarrassing..haha but what to feel ashamed of, we're with our own family, The Cagers Family. The peak of the night was our official Talent Night where every Cager has to sing..Some of them sang well especially Afif with The Climb (he had been practicing all day long), and some of them sang badly like ...(Not gonna say who)..but overall it was fun and entertaining.
We had wrapped up the camp and the night with a speech given by Q-4-G Club President, Sdr. Hilmy Hakim bin Hamzah, Aunty, Abg Ise and lastly by Sir. Sir even sang a song entitled 'Kumbaiya' that night.
The next day, we all prepared ourselves to go back home and leave Cameron Highland. We were very sad to leave the place and all our memories being together laughing and enjoying ourselves for the whole week.. Some of the Cagers left with Abg Ise while the others board the college bus.. we departed at 3.30 and arrived at koleq sometime around 7.30 pm..And so..our Cameron Highland ended there..
The Cagers would like to thank Abg Ise, Aunty Ana and Sir + Cikgu Jimmy so much for their undying effort for really really bringing us to the camp..PIBGs..Thanks to koleq Admins to for their support and help financially and for giving the permission for the Cagers to go..Thanks to Pak Cik Megat for driving us back and forth to Cameron Highlands..Old Boys, esp. Syahmi and Luqman..parents who supported us monetarily..and those who helped us in making this camp a reality..
Thank You very much..
Cagers10 is proudly to conclude..

Of Puasa and Training..
Well..the first week we had our one-week school break and spent our first week of fasting at home..except for 2 boys who came to Mr. Liew's house for a Study Camp joined by Alep and Rahmat..I would say it was splendid to be with them. we're like.. family.. we studied, we played, we break our fast with the bazaar food..and had our sahur with the Sifu's special fried rice..it was delecio0uusss! I kinda miss it now.. Mr. Liew even fast during our stay there..
So..there goes our first week and then comes the following week..we got our results..officially n our position..geez..wouldnt wanna say how bad it is (coz it's really bad)..we trained as usual till one day..Mr. Liew got damn mad at us for not doing the drills properly and not performing in our studies..he went kabboom that evening n it continued for the next 2 weeks..we were very shock n panic..didnt know what 2 do..(bcoz b4 dis yg slalu pujuk sir rahmat n casem, skarang diorg dh xde) we just did what we think is best for him and us..
The 3rd week..after coming back from hometown (again) for Nzul Quran, a few of us..who failed even a paper in our previous exam..has to sit under the tun haniff court tree..it was soo boring and coincidently, casem n que came to koleq that day along with abg ise and aunty ana..it was hurtful to see them play while we were stuck here studying under the tree..
As time passes by..so does the days of Ramadhan..we sat under the tree for a whole week! from Tuesday, to another tuesday..We picked the puasa days because there were not much of a training in the Ramadhan..no fitness..
Finally till the last day had come..we came down..(early) and enjoyed every single second of the training session..we got the chance to play some games..and win some too..but the feeling to touch n dribble the ball was the best! we never got to touch the ball when we were under the tree..
Mr. Liew also wrote a song bout the tree, but I cant remember what's the lyric..
We vowed to the tree never to meet IT again..and so i hope that we shall never meet..

H1N1..owh such a troublesome..
Malaysia has been such a fine country until a certain someone (don't know who) came back on a flight from overseas and spread the deathly disease..the virus spreads so fast and so easy..this country haven't had it's death case till the first death case occur..sometime around last few weeks..The number rose from day to day and seems to be rising..there was nothing the government could do nor the people..Many events were canceled and will be to prevent gatherings of crowds..and many trips were canceled to like the supposed-to-be visit of the President of Singapore to MCKK today due to influenza A..
The Cagers trip to Penang and Taiping last week were also canceled as the MOE gave orders not to join any competitions, training programs and gatherings that weren't organised by the ministry. And so the trips were canceled. Man..! we were very very excited about the trips because the trips were supposed to be after the exams, so we were thinking by getting out of the college compound can make our heads forget about the exams while enjoying a few friendly matches..but, there was nothing we can do other than pray and hope that this virus will not enter the college ground..
But Mr. Liew has said that the trips were not canceled instead they were postponed to an unknown date..we just have to wait till the disease is over..
Well..I think we have to rethink why does this virus came to Malaysia and spread so quickly..maybe we had done something wrong or many things that are wrong..God won't just send this thing to mankind for no reason..well..in this upcoming fasting month, let's just pray pray and pray and hope for miracles to happen (with efforts of course!)
Tree-Oh-Tree..
And so..the days passed by..we took the tests last week and got the results this week..well..5 of us failed a subject..we discussed with Abg Ise and agreed to obey (we had no choice!) and will be sitting under the tree during Puasa month for a whole week..! Looks like the sir's going to lose a few players for a week..
Don't miss us too much!!haha..
P/S : To abg ise..we'll be back in the diagnostic exams!! we were just unlucky this time..

Post PPM - Penang Trip 2009
Well..it is now back to square one. The Cagers' were brought to Penang to witness a few games between the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan National Team. Well, the first place went to the Malaysian National Team, while the 2nd went to the Philippines team. The 3rd and 4th place went to Taiwan and Singapore team respectively. Those games were awesome!! They played really well especially no. 11 Taiwan and no. 7 Philippines..The Philippines hit many 3 points that night to catch up with the Malaysian team.
Besides that, we learned a few ways of warming up-the Philippines way. A few drills were taught too by the Philippines coach just for the Cagers in honour of Mr. Liew. We really enjoyed our stay there because our Casem '06 also came along. It was a really good experience for the whole team especially to those who played in the Spritzer Cup in Menglembu.

Cagers Trivia 2..
- The first and original trophy sponsored by Tun Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Hamdan bin Sheikh Tahir, was given to MCKK to be kept as an honour for the team that had the most wins in 1990. Another trophy was later made for the championship also sponsored by him.
- The Cagers home court, lies behind the East Wing of MCKK is also called MSG or Madison Square Garden.
- Cager is a term frequently used for a professional basketball player. The word originated from early professional games (1910-1915) played in a cage to separate the audience from the playing court and speed up the game by keeping the ball in-bounds.
- The last Cagers to enter the semi-finals before Cagers 04 was Cagers 95. 10 years not to go to semis..that's like.. hell!
- 5 captains that had led the Cagers to 5 years of consecutive glory Syafiq Noh '04, Cepe or Amirul Hafidz '05, Aliff Abdul Muiz '06, Rahmat '07 and Mokri '08.
- Winning the Final PHT earns any Cagers the College Colours tie. But that's not all about winning the trophy for the Cagers.
- If there is an award throughout the whole 6 years of the Q4G project for the best Cagers ever, I'm sure the award will go to Alep for his best performance MCKK has ever seen.

Cagers 09 - Birth, Growth and Death..
Cagers 09 was born in 2005 but was used offically as of 2007. The word 'Cagers 09' came to exist and was realised to be one of the weakest Cagers ever in the year 2007 when Mr. Liew announced his worries for Cagers 09 to win in the 2009 PHT..and so..he and Abg Ise and Aunty Ana came up with the idea to expose us with matches against the other SBPs..
The focus continues when we attended the STF Central Training Camp 2007. Cagers 09 were exposed with matches against Johor Team..UiTM..and many more..If Mr. Liew wants someone to do a demo..he would ask anyone of us to do it. His attention to Cagers 08 was very little as he is very confident with the team. 4 of Cagers 09 were given the privilege to enter the 08 team based on their skills and performances..
After winning the championship in 2008..Mr. Liew's focus quickly change to Cagers 09. Many tournaments have we entered, many matches have we played but those were not enough to win the championship. We played in the U-16 District, U-15 Invitational, MSSD, against the Cameron Highlands and Penang team..and lots more. In Dec 2008, Mr. Liew brought 3 of them for the coaching clinic in MABA. Many new drills were uncovered and modified to fit the Cagers. He also invited the whole team to witness the Asean University Games..He did many sacrifices to us..He shouldn't be taking the blame..
But at last..the team came to an end..when it died of losing the championship..I guess it was just not meant to be for us, Cagers 09..We won our 1st 2 matches in the tournament which was against SMESH (66-25) and SESMA (66-37). But unfortunately..we lost to MOZAC and SEMASHUR..
But the Cagers will bounce back. Yes, and I'm pretty sure of it. Cagers '10 will seize back the trophy and win it for Mr. Liew, Abg Ise and Aunty Ana. We are sorry for letting you down. We'll make sure the championship will be ours next year! Special thanks and apologies to Mr. Liew, Abg Ise, Aunty Ana, Old Boys, MCKK and those who supported us directy or indirectly. Long Live the Cagers!!
"Sometimes, losing is a need, because when you win too much,
you forgot the meaning of winning.."
"Winners are those who fight back even when they are losing.."

Of U-16.. and MSSD Tournament..
U-16 Tournament..
The game started on Sunday, April 19th 2009 in Taiping just after the end of the Old Boys Weekend..The team comprised of 10 Cagers and 2 Tsung Wah players. The rules of the game were very simple..but hard to follow. Each team was split into 2 sub-teams where each sub-teams will have 6 players.. In the first quarter, the players are allowed to be substituted only among the first 6 likewise in the second quarter, the players are allowed to be substituted among the second 6..During the first and second quarter, all the players cannot defend in the form of zone defense but in the form of full court. Like NBA, any players who doesn't play in this form will get a free technical foul.. The first 6 comprised of Am, Syafiq Ise, Ammar, El and Yang and Sheng of Tsung Wah while the next 6 were Farid, Shah, Zaki, Hijazi, Syafiq Sallehin and me myself. Am of course did not play for the first 2 games because of his injury. We lost 3 out of 4 games..out of those 4 matches..I'd say, the best match would be the last match which was against Taiping A..though we lost about 22 points..but our defense that time was very tight. Like Mr. Liew always say.."I don't care if we lose to a better team..". After the last match, we bid our goodbyes and thank yous to Sheng and Young as they had been very very kind, friendly and helpful to us in and out of the court. And so..we move on to our next agenda, which was the MSSD..
MSSD Kuala Kangsar
It was held on Monday and Tuesday at Liman Kati, just a 15 minutes drive from the school. Pak Cik Salleh drove all 14 of us plus Cikgu Fatimah with the college coaster. Syai, Azim, Md. Noor, Amir, Am, Ammar, El, Shah, Izzat, Syafiq S, Iqbal and Syafiq Ise were the 12 players in the squad while Hijazi and I played our role as water-boys and statistic-er. Both of us did a good job as the bottles and towels got delivered to the players on time and the statistics were pretty well done. Anyway..the first day, we were up against SMK Shin Chung of Sg. Siput. They put in a few big size players but with no stamina. The players also played harsh on the Cagers especially on Am and Ammar. Both of them were given the permission though to fight back by both Mr. Liew and Abg Ise..There was one time when Am was doing a free layup..the number 4 of Shin Chung smack him on the chest making him losing control of the ball and this made the squad really mad..our team to them are like deers to rhinos..so, unfortunately, we lost about 29 points.
The next game was on the same day but later that evening. It started at 3.30 p.m at the same court. That time, we were up against SMJK Tsung Wah. During the first 3 quarters, the Cagers played well and maintained a margin of 14 points. But the Tsung Wah players managed to narrow the gap by losing only 4 points..The Cagers won.
The 3rd and last game, the Cagers were against SUWA or Tsung Wah Private. It was a very easy game and most of the starting 5 did not play. Syai injured his ankle in their last match which was against Tsung Wah, while Am and Syafiq Ise were given the chance to rest since this is just an easy game. Ammar played as point guard this time. And so..we won about 30 points of margin..Overall, we came in 2nd and 4 of our players were chosen to represent KK in the upcoming MSSPK but they rejected due to the Mid-Year Exam which is coming next week.
The Cagers will have nothing bue just normal practice to sharpen their skills and stamina to prepare themselves for the National. We were told that schools like SDAR and MOZAC send giants to the competiton. Let see if they can catch us and our speed..

Basketball Beyond Basketball..
while we were having our usual training session in the evening..a perdana executive came by and stopped near the court. a man dressed in a light red checkers casual shirt came out of the car..he didn't introduced himself at first, but we knew who he is..he is Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah, the Dep. Minister of Entrepreneurial and Cooperative Development..he was indeed a nice gentleman..he talked with Mr. Liew to discuss about things regarding the team for about half an hour while watching us perform our practice..
at the end of the session, Mr. Liew introduced him to us..from that..we knew that he was the head prefect of MCKK and was the best speaker for the PPM during his years of debating..he was of Mohd Shah House and also ran the MCKK Editorial Board when he was in kolet (1976-1980)..he was so kind to personally sponsor our PHT shoes for the first 15 players..
Basketball Beyond Basketball
that was his philosophy..and I personally think that it's true..basketball is more than just dribbling the ball and putting it into the basket..especially if you are a Cager, then you can get many things from basketball..you'll have to learn to manage your team..how to handle the fights between your teammates..how to listen and follow to instructions..and there's more..discipline..brotherhood..bond between the coach and players..how to cope with pressure, inside and outside the court. it is a great philosophy that we all should follow..hopefully, our team can be more than just a team, a family I mean..we will..and I'm sure of it..

PHT North Zone 2009 Tournament
Our first match was against SBPI Gopeng. We were fired up with the game and so we beat our opponent 48-13.
Our second match was at 12.30 pm although we were supposed to play at 11.45 am due to 2 overtimes made by the previous match. Our opponent was SMS Muhammad Jiwa and we beat them 33-8.
Fourth Match
That morning..Mr. Liew change his strategy from critics, critics and critics..to praises, motivations and confidence. " Today..there'll be no negative comments on y'all..only positive comments will be said ", he said. And on that match, we played well, in fact it was our best game for the tournament. We trashed SBPI Gopeng 49-9.
Fifth Match
We had our match with our traditional rival that evening, STAR. We won..40-12.
Semi Final
SMS Tuanku Syed Putra was our next opponent in the semi-final game the next morning..
We beat them, 46-14.
Final
The PHT North Zone Championship 2009 witnessed the battle between Cagers and STAR, again..in the Final. Of course, as predicted, the Cagers won but with less score than usual, 27-10.
And so, the championship is back in the hands of Cagers.
We won the championshipand will be heading to SSP, Cyberjaya to play in the National PHT Tournament. It is scheduled to be held in the end of May and early of June.
I think the man bahind all this really deserves the credit, our coach, Mr. Liew for guiding us to victory. Abg Ise and Aunty Ana for giving up their whole week to prepare the Cagers for their Championship. They sacrificed their time, money and energy just to see the trophy back in MCKK. Abg Azran, his wife, and their two children, Hafiz and Irfan for their supports and 100 Plus for the Cagers. Supporters namely Izzat, Farid and Zaki for their cheer for the team.
Thank you all see ya in Cyberjaya!

Cagers-Dynamites December Camp
So we had our trainings and practice. Our coach had introduced to us something new to help us with our speed and stamina like the 3-6-3 full court run. We waited for a few physical tests like routeworks and swith sides, but Mr. Liew didn't really trust our stamina condition, though we think we were above average at that time..:P
And then there's the PMR Result Day. All of us pass the exam with flying colours and so did the Dynamites. We all celebrated over cakes and ice-cream (sponsored by Aunty and Casem 06) that night. Mr. Liew was also proud of us for our excellence in the exam.
Day by day..night by night..the camp came to an end on Saturday..that night, the Dynamites head off to JB to get prepared for school on Monday. We were very sad that our old boys will be going back also on that day. Only Jae 08 was left with us till Sunday. Our bonds were too strong to let them go away. The court would be different this year not to see the laughs of Syahmi and Jae, the voice of Ammar and Justin, the guidance of Mokri and Luqman and the face of Starmai and Iwan. This year is going to be a hell of different cause we are the seniors now. Now we know how big and heavy are the responsibilities.
Well, I guess that's all about the Dec Camp we attended last year. For more detail, please refer to Abg Ise's Blog..Haha!

Of MCKK U-15, Cameron Highlands Trip and Prebysterian High
Well..here's a story on what happened last year while Abg Ise and Aunty Ana were on Hajj..
Malay College hosted its 2nd invitation tournament and as like the year before..it is still the champion. It started on the 5th till the 8th of November 2008. It was rather short this year as the school had allocated a small budget for us to host the tournament.
MCKK sent 2 teams last year which were Cagers A and Cagers B. The players of the A team were mostly from the top players of each form. Every team had 2 form 4s with Syai and Ajim in the team A and Mat Noor and Amir in team B..
Many schools received and accepted the invitation namely SDAR, STAR, SAS, SEMASHUR, SMS Dungun and SESMA despite the lameness throughout the tournament. Last year's tournament had to be combined with the Debate Four Corners Match. So, a lot of things can't go our way. Everything must be considered cause it's not just the Cagers tournament, it's the debaters' also.
So, back to the tournament, basically, as we all had guess, Cagers A won the cup, with the 2nd placing went to SESMA. SEMASHUR won the 3rd and 4th placing beating Cagers B. SDAR, who was expected to be in the finals lost in the 2nd round after after losing to Cagers B (well..Ghazali didn't play because of his injury a day before the match..lucky us!!). It was truly a great experience to play with other teams and to know their style of plays..Like SEMASHUR, we now know their skills as well as SMS Dungun.
1st Place : CAGERS A
2nd Place : SESMA
3rd Place : SEMASHUR
4th Place : CAGERS B
Oh yeah..there were no MVP for last year's tournament as no one could play up to the standard that an MVP would play.
After a short while of relaxing and postmorterm..Mr. Liew had brought us all up to Cameron Highlands for a holiday trip though we still played a few games. We had many sponsors that paid for our stay, there. All of them were old boys. Although we were trashed by the home team, Mr. Liew didn't take it seriously cause the games were just to expose us to a much better team. All we did was enjoy the scenery, the strwaberries, the ice-creams and the cool-windy air. All of us enjoyed the trip very much as it reduced our tenses.
But one thing we forgot was that we were going to have a match with the Prebysterian School from Singapore the day after we came back. We had no stamina, no strength, and gained a lot of weight too..they have a few national youth players aand all of them are big size!! Their tallest player is 194 cm! At the end of the game, we lost..but we didn't get to play the full game..since it was raining that very evening. And so..we head back home..to enjoy our holiday filled with trainings..
